Rider of the Week

Cody Wojt Week of: 8/30/2008 Cody Wojt is new to BMX this year and having a great time. He rides in the 11 Rookie class. Cody broke his arm at one of the first races this season and was back on the track as soon as he got the OK from the doctors. He is an only child and attends the 6th grade at Hale Schools. Cody also enjoys playing soccer, drawing and playing the drums.

 

Zak LaPointe Week of: 8/28/2008 Zak LaPointe is racing BMX for the first year this year in the 12 Rookie class. He will attend Richardson Middle School in the 8th grade this year. Zak has a younger sister, Victoria and a dog named Taz. Zak also enjoys football and soccer.

 

Aaron Pettit Week of: 8/28/2008 Aaron Pettit is a 10 year old Novice rider at Northern Michigan BMX and our Rider of the Week for our first race this week. Aaron will attend Richardson Elementary in the 4th grade this year. Aaron has three older sisters. He attended all six State Qualifiers this year and is Qualified for the State Championship Race. Aaron has one dog at home named Rosie. When he isn't racing or riding his bike, Aaron likes to play video games.

 

Josh Cooper Week of: 8/23/2008 Josh is racing BMX for his second year. He rides in the 8 Rookie class. Josh will attend Cedar Lake Elementary School this fall in the second grade. Josh's older brother also races. Josh has a dog and a ferret at home for pets. Josh also enjoys playing soccer, baseball and video games. Josh has attended all six State Qualifiers this year and will qualify for the State Championship in Ionia.

 

James Allison Week of: 8/14/2008 James is racing BMX for the first year this year. He races in the 16 Rookie class. James will start his sophmore year at Oscoda High School this fall. He has one younger brother who also races and his mom serves as Secretart on the board at Northern Mi BMX. James attended all six of Michigan's State Qualifiers this year. GO JAMES!!! When he is not racing he likes to hang out with his friends- especially his best friend Paul.

 

Adam McNeill Week of: 8/2/2008 Adam is brand new to BMX this year and rides in the 8 Rookie class. He has one little sister- Lauren. Adam will start Richardson Elementary School this fall in the third grade. Adam also enjoys playing baseball.

 

Jeremiah Currie Week of: 7/19/2008 Jeremiah Currie is our next Rider of the Week. Jeremiah just started racing this year and races in the 8 Rookie class. Jeremiah lives in Tawas and has one sister. He will attend Clara Bolen Elementary School in the fall in the 3rd grade. Jeremiah has one cat at home. In addition to racing, Jeremiah plays baseball and is in Cub Scouts.

 

Patrick Ungurean Week of: 7/19/2008 Patrick Ungurean is this week's Rider of the Week. Patrick has raced for three years at Northern Michigan BMX and races in the 12 Rookie class. In the fall Patrick will attend Richardson Middle School in the 7th grade. He has one brother and three sisters. He also has 2 dogs and a cat at home. Patrick is always willing to help out around the track. When he isn't racing he likes to hang out with his brother and on the computer.

 

Chris Yates Week of: 7/5/2008 Chris Yates races in the 15 Novice class at Northern Mi BMX. He has raced for 6 years now. Chris will go to Oscoda High School this fall in the 10th grade. He has one brother and two sisters. Chris has finished the State Series in the top three for the last 3 years. Chris went to the President's Cup & Christmas Classic last year and was part of the team that made Michigan history with the first ever President's Cup win. He also traveled to Florida in March for the Easter Classis. When he isn't racing, Chris likes to spend time on the computer and play his video game, ride his bike on the jump at his house, swim and work with his horse. Chris is a member of the J&C Supercross team.

 

Matthew Yates Week of: 7/5/2008 Rider of the week for our first race this week is Matthew Yates. Matthew has raced BMX for five years now and us currently in the 11 Novice class. Matthew lives with his parents, brother and two sisters in Mikado and will start 7th grade in the fall. Matthew was 2cnd in his class in 2004 in the Michigan State Series. When he isn't racing he likes to ride the jump at his house or play on the computer or video games. Matt attende the President's Cup in 2007 where he was injured and The Easter Classic in Florida in March of 2008. Matt is a member of the J & C Racing Team.

 

Anna Yates Week of: 7/3/2008 Anna Yates is a 5 year old rookie class rider. This is her second year of racing. Anna has two older brothers, Chris and Matt who have raced for 6 years and one older sister, Sarah who also races. In addition to her parents and three brothers and sisters, Anna has lots of pets she helps take care of. She has a dog named Jessie, a horse-Casey, two goats, Snowflake and Ariel and two bunnies. Anna will attend Cedar Lake Elementary School this fall in the first grade. Anna keeps busy with her racing, reading, playing outside and swimming.

 

Khristian Suszek Week of: 6/30/2008 Khristian Suszek is Northern Michigan BMX's first Rider of the Week. Khristian is nine years old and races in the 9 Rookie class. He has raced BMX for three years now. Khristian has held the 1R LEAP plate at Northern Michigan BMX for the last two years. He is going into the fourth grade at Richardson Elementary School in the fall. Kristian isn't the only racer in his family. His dad Kevin also races, as well as serves as announcer for our track. Khristian has one sister- Ashley and several pets. He has four dogs and one bunny. When he isn't at the track, he also enjoys soccer and baseball. Khristian received a Rider of the Week T-shirt, and 6 BMX bucks.
